FAQ
What do you do?
I'm a travel advisor and I help you with scheduling your next trip. Whenever you book a trip, there are so many different factors you have to consider and juggle, and lots of research to find the perfect place to stay, the best flights, etc. I take all of that off your plate and do the leg work for you. You just tell me your budget, where you're headed, and when, and I will take care of everything else. It's kinda like having a magical genie for booking your vacations.
How much do you charge?
Absolutely nothing. I get paid commission that is built into the cost of your trip already. Basically, any website you use to book things like hotels and flights adds in a service fee which is their commission for booking your services. So, if you were to look up a hotel on Booking.com and find a room for $80/night, I can get you that same room for the same price. My services cost nothing extra for you but instead of getting frustrated with managing the details of your trip yourself, you get me *your travel bestie* and I take care of planning everything and only get paid a small portion of what you will already be paying towards your trip.
Added BONUS: Most companies I work with want me to continue booking with them in the future, so many of them will go out of their way to offer additional perks clients who use my services. You quite literally have nothing to lose.
What is ethical traveling?
Ethical traveling is a way of traveling that relies on a traveler to be educated on the ways traveling may negatively impact native people, animals, plants, and terrain. Some ways to travel ethically might include only staying at locally owned hostels/homes/villas, or finding alternative destinations if where you want to go might be too damaging to the local community. Ethical travel requires us to be constantly learning about the world, elevating native voices, and always remembering that we are a guest in someone else's home.
How are neurodivergence and traveling related?
For some people, it might not be. But for neurodivergents, everything in life is related to our mental health or neurodevelopmental disabilities. Traveling is something that should be accessible to everyone, but unfortunately, it can be very difficult for us. For example, I am autistic and I struggle a lot with sensory issues. This means flying and being in airports is very uncomfortable for me (beyond what is considered "normal" discomfort). Part of what I want to do is share information with the neurodivergent community that helps make traveling feel more accessible and empower people who want to travel to do so. It's a learning process for all of us but we all deserve to feel free and experience the world, even if we have to wear earplugs and compression socks while we do it.
I don't have much money but I want to travel. Can you help?
It depends. Generally, I want to say yes, but it will depend on your goals vs. your budget. I am very familiar with planning trips on a budget, or even planning a cross-country move on a budget. If I'm not able to directly plan your trip, keep an eye on my Instagram and blog for tips on how to travel on a budget. There are lots of ways to receive room/board in exchange for work, or ways to get cheaper transportation. Everyone's situation is unique and I would be happy to talk more with you and see if I can help! I want to see you live the life you want!
What's the catch?
There is none. I've been told a lot in my life that people are waiting on the other shoe to drop or they feel like there's something they're missing. But that's not the case. I really like travel, research, and planning, and I have found a way that allows me to help people see the world while doing something I enjoy. Nowhere on this website is there a section for you to pay for services- this whole website is a labor of love. I'm an independent contractor with a travel agency and will only ever be paid by the travel agency for commission earned on trips booked. I will only ever need your payment details to pay for your flights/hotels/etc. and only after you have confirmed your trip details and expenses with me. The money goes to those companies who then pay a small % back to me for my services. Everything I do outside of that is free.99 and just because I love it.
